The Physical Activity & Sustainable Health: Nutritional Status, Community Wellbeing and Environmental Enhancement
 
The physical activity and sustainable health team is made up of a combination of multidisciplinary individuals from the School of Health Sciences, School of Medical Sciences, School of Distance Education and School of Humanities of Universiti Sains Malaysia, and Universiti Malaysia Sarawak. The team aims to document the association of physical activity status with several parameters, namely physical environment, nutritional status, disease risk factors, behavioural changes to physical activity readiness among overweight and obese adults and physical activity status among pregnant women. This project focuses on four major areas: (a) Physical activity, weight status and environmental variability, (b) Physical activity and breast cancer, (c) Trans-theoretical model of change as applied to physical activity readiness among overweight and obese adults (intervention study), and (d) Nutritional status, dietary diversity, physical activity and pregnancy outcome among pregnant women.
